According to a media informtion, crude oil started leaking from the pipeline after personnel of an external agency, which is not related to MRPL, accidentally damaged the pipeline while doing ground work in Thokur.
Ramesh Poojary from MRPL’s administration department was the first to spot the leak, while he was passing by that road.
He took preliminary measures to stop the leak before alerting the MRPL maintenance wing personnel. The maintenance wing personnel arrived at the spot after a few minutes and plugged the leak it is reported.
