Mangalore, July 02, 2014:  Speaking at an interaction programme, Chief of Krishi Prayoga Pariwar, Theerthahalli Anand said that agriculture is fast disappearing, we are deviating from organic farming as well.

“Farmers use chemicals to grow crops. If the consumers demand only organically grown vegetables, then the farmers will cater to the needs of the consumers. There is a need to strengthen the bond between the farmers and consumers in this regard. There is a need to create awareness on organic farming.” Deficit rainfall has affected the farming activities. There is imbalance in the nature.

Farmers are the assets of the country, there is a need to carry out a movement against inorganic farming. Dr Sudesh Shastry inaugurated the programme.

Organically grown green leaf vegetables, cauliflower, onion, fruits like Rambutan, mango, banana, and jackfruit, vegetables, cereals and processed food prepared by various self-help groups were among the wide array of products which attracted people at the the organic fair organised by Savayava Krishi Pariwara on the Sharavu Sri Mahaganapathi Temple in Mangalore on June 30.
