P. P. Upadhya takes over as MRPL MD

Mangalore, July 2, 2012 : P. P. Upadhya has taken over as the managing director of MRPL from U. K. Basu, who retired on June 30.

P. P. Upadhya has been working in the petroleum industry for more than 30 years. Having obtained his chemical engineering degree from NIT-K, he began his career in Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). He was the trustee of the New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) for two years and is now the member of the Petronet Mangalore – Hasan – Bangalore Pipeline Board.

He has stated in a press release that he will give top priority to the completion of the company’s Phase III project, which includes polypropylene unit and SPM, improving energy performance, and others.
