Mangalore, May 15: The district committee of the Popular Front of India (PFI) staged a protest in front of the DC’s office on Friday demanding the immediate ban of Shri Rama Sene (SRS) and the arrest of its leader Muthalik. Anwar Sadath, the district president of the PFI, and leader Mohammed Hanif participated in the protest.
Abdul Razak Kemral, the state committee member of PFI, said that Muthalik has been unmasked by the media; and it has been proved to the public that the SRS is a threat to the security and harmony of the nation. He also urged Hindus to protest against Muthalik for using the name of God for his organization, adding that Muthalik should change the name of his organization to “Goonda Sene.”
Reminding the public about certain communally provocative statements made by the SRS chief, he said that Muthalik should be arrested immediately. Muthalik had called upon women to take up arms and fight. He had also declared that his organization has trained a suicide squad of 900 men to fight against the minorities in the state. Muthalik had even justified attacks on churches and moral policing, he recalled.
Shafi Belare, the president of the Sullia unit of PFI, said that Muthalik should be investigated thoroughly. Pramod Muthalik and Prasad Attavar, who are involved in anti-national activities, must be arrested immediately; and the organization must be listed as a terrorist organization, he urged.
A memorandum was later submitted to the home minister through the DC.
