Mangalore, Oct 30, 2012: The Popular Front of India (PFI) will organize a massive public convention at Town Hall on Nov 2 as part of its month-long national-level campaign against the falsehood spread about the PFI.
Addressing reporters, Abdul Razak Kemmara, member of the PFI Karnataka State Committee, said that certain external forces are conspiring to defame the organization by linking it to terrorist organizations. Even the media has published misleading reports, stating that the young men arrested in Hubli are PFI activists. Stating that the agenda of the PFI has always been to uphold constitutional rights, he said that a nationwide campaign has been launched to enhance awareness about the PFI.
Speaking about the PFI, he said that it has always stood for human rights and educational rights, especially to the Muslim community.
He said that, through its month-long campaign called “Why Popular Front,” the organization will spread public awareness regarding the aims and objectives of the organizations. He said that programs have been held all over the country so far.
The special guests at the convention, which will be held in Mangalore, will be Khadim of Ajmer Dargah, Bahujan Samajwadi Party Karnataka State President Marasandra Muniyappa, and National President of All India Imams Council Usman Baig. As many as 1000 PFI members from the twin districts will take part in this event, he said.
