Mangalore, May 17: District-in-charge Minister inaugurated an award ceremony organized by the Karavali Institute of Technology (KIT) at Neermarga on Sunday. During his inaugural speech, he said that students should keep politics out of the campus.
Palemar also advised students to inculcate values and principles in life. The nation can be developed only through higher education; and institutions must place emphasis on higher education, he said.
Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC and president of the State NRI Forum, said that success is possible only if a person understands his strengths, opportunities, weaknesses, and threats properly. He advised students not to feel distracted when they face difficulties.
Speaking about environmental issues, he said that people abuse the environment without bothering about the consequences. He expressed his opinion that arrogance and greed are the only factors that make man indifferent and irresponsible toward the environment.
S. Ganesh Rao, the founder of the G. R. Education Trust, presided over the programme. Dr. V. Seenappa, the principal of the college, was also present.
