Mangalore, June 1, 2013: A youth hailing from Bangalore was rescued from drowning by the Lifeguards of the Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project on May 31, Friday at the Panambur beach.
The youth Rakesh (19) from Rajajinagar, Bangalore, had come to the beach with his friend Hemanth but was eventually caught in the rip currents after failing to heed to the warnings of the beach life guards.
Yatish Baikampady, CEO of the Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project, said the youth who was drowning was later rescued by the Beach Lifeguards who spotted him.
The teenager is said to be a student of First PUC at KLE College, Vijayanagar, Bangalore.
