Oct 11, 2018: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) secretary T M Shahid urged the government to enact a law preventing politicians from defecting to other party during the elections.
Shahid told media at Patrika Bhavan on Oct 10, Wednesday, that the political leaders who defect during elections should be banned from contesting any elections for a minimum period of six months.
“They should be allowed to contest as independent candidates only,” he added.
Shahid criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking entrepreneurs along with him for his foreign tours. He said the PM has failed to control the rising prices of fuels and accused him of misusing the Enforcement Directorate and CBI.
