Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, Nov 25, 2017: City Police Commissioner (CPC) T.R. Suresh  received complaints against private bus operators refusing to accept Rs. 10 coins. On Nov 24, Friday, CPC  Suresh was surprised to hear a caller complaining against a post office’s refusal to accept the coin.   The caller said the post office in Bunder had refused to take the coin.

CPC Suresh said the Rs. 10 coin was legal tender and none can refuse to take it. The Reserve Bank has given clarification on this issue. Asking the caller to submit his complaint in writing, CPC Suresh said the authorities would seek a reply from Postal Department.
