Police nab truck transporting trees illegally; Culprits escape

Panja, Oct 31, 2013: Panja forest department on Tuesday, October 29 night, nabbed a truck carrying trees illegally. The incident took place at Kurubana Keri.

 
Forest department during a Nakhabandhi in the night happened to trace the truck however the culprits escaped.

As per reports, trees were chopped down so that the trees could be easily transported. 35 logs of trees of different varieties were seized from the truck.

 

The investigation was held under the leadership of Praveen Kumar Shetty, Panja unit forest officer. Hunt for the culprits is on.
