Police personnel killed as bus rams bike at Anjar

Mangaluru, July 19,2016: It has come to light that a police constable died in a collision between a motorcycle and a private bus  near Kajarguttu bridge in Anjar village coming under the Hiriyadka Police Station limits on July 18, Monday.

K. Annamalai, Superintendent of Police, said that the police constable, Shanoor Basha Mulla (26), son of Noorsaab Mulla, was doing his daily beats at Perdoor and other villages and was returning from Pernankila to Hiriyadka police station to have his lunch, when a private bus coming from the opposite direction hit his motorycle at Anjar. As a result of the collision, Mulla was thrown off his motorcycle and was severely injured. He was rushed to the KMC in Manipal, where he later died. Mulla was a native of Galgali village in Bilgi taluk of Bagalkot district. A case had been registered at the Hiriyadka police station and investigations were on, the police said.
