Udupi, Jan 27, 2016:  According to the police,  A 50-year-old man was found dead near Karavali Bypass Road here on jan 26, Tuesday.  The deceased, Karibasaiah, a labourer from Bagalkot.  His brother Kumara, who lodged a complaint with the police, said that Karibasaiah’s wife Renuka allegedly had an affair with their neighbour Sharanappa. Unable to bear it, Karibasaiah committed suicide in the house at Migrant Workers’ Colony.

A case has been registered under Sections 306 (Abetment of suicide) and 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of offence) read with Section 34 of Indian Penal Code at the Udupi Town Police Station, the police said.

Chain snatching

A case of chain snatching was reported. The district police said that Sugandhi was walking near the railway bridge at Korangrapady at around 7.30 p.m. when a scooter-borne person snatched her gold necklace worth Rs. 50,000 and fled.  A case had been registered.
