Police talk to group waiting to ‘advise’ couple

Mangaluru, Feb 15, 2015 : Police caught up with a group of about  10 who had assembled at Kadri Park in the city to  ensure that  couples do not celebrate ’Valentine’s Day’   Deputy Commissioner of Police K. Santosh Babu told media that police who were patrolling the area picked up the group and advised them against indulging in any anti-social activity. Crowds were present in large number at the park to see the two-week flower show that began on February 14.

Assault :   The previous day, a group assaulted two teen aged boys after spotting them with a female companions, near the NIT-K (National Institute of Technology- Karnataka) bus-stop, at Surathkal. However, the students did not file a complaint with the police. The Surathkal police said the students had gone to Surathkal beach.  While they were waiting for the bus, the group attacked. Police, who were in the area, rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
