Mangalore, Feb 8: Polio drops were administered to 1,52,616 below five-year children on Sunday in Dakshina Kannda district.

This was a second round of pulse polio immunisation programme taken up in the district.

According to sources at the Department of Health and Family Welfare, here, Mangalore rural 88.2%, Mangalore city 80.6%, Mangalore Municipal Corporation 77.6%, Bantwala Taluk 90.12%, Puttur Taluk 92.1%, Beltahangady Taluk 95.9% and Sulya taluk 87.9% were administered the drops on Sunday .

The department will take up a house to house campaign in the urban areas for two days and in rural areas for three days said Dr.Jagannath, District Health and Family Welfare officer.
