Mangalore Today News Network

Karkala, Apr 06, 2016: With road accidents critically shooting up and distracted driving the main reason behind the same, the III yr Electronics and Communications Diploma students of Ujire Prasanna Polytechnic College have developed a unique equipment that can become an effective solution. If the equipment designed by the students Sayyed Salman Arif, Mohommed Ashraf, Lokesh M, sudarshan, Yathish B acts as speed controller and if installed in the vehicle, the gadget brings down the speed of the vehicle automatically in accident-prone areas.

When the gadget is installed in vehicles, a ‘signal controller’ will have to be installed at accident prone sign boards so that through the GPS, these signal controllers can send signals to the equipment in the vehicle to slow the speed down.

The students were supported and encouraged by Principal H M Patil, project guide Diploma in I&C Lecturer Karthik Rathod and others.
