Pre-counselling guidance programme on May 15, Govt programme too for jobless youth

May 11, 2017: A report from Deccan Herald and Prajavani states they will organise a Common Entrance Test (CET) / Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) pre-counselling guidance programme for the aspirants of the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi at the seminar hall of the Canara First Grade College at Kodialbail in Mangaluru on May 15.

The programme titled "After CET, What Next" is an opportunity as well as a platform for students to interact with the CET/COMEDK counsellors and to learn from the experts. In fact, it is an opportunity to make smart choices to ensure that the academic careers of the students lead to a great future.

There will be three well-known and expert speakers who would clarify doubts of the students, after they make their respective presentations. The speakers include Dr Sajjan Shenoy, a consultant rheumatologist at the Kasturba Medical College (KMC) in Mangaluru (who will speak on the medical courses); Prof B Radheshyam, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at the Shri Madhwa Vadiraj Institute of Technology and Management at Bantakal in Udupi district (who will speak on engineering courses); and Saraswathi B, the principal of the Government Pre University College in Bantwal. The last speaker will deliberate on all aspects of the Common Entrance Test, including documentation and other processes involved in selecting the courses.

There will be a question and answer session after each speaker’s presentation, wherein students can clarify their doubts. Parents of the students too are welcome to accompany the students for the sessions.

The entry for the CET pre-counselling is free and students can also opt for spot registration, which would commence at 9 am on May 15.

Similar programmes will be held at Mysuru (Senate Bhavan, Manasagangothri, University of Mysuru) on May 13, Tumakuru (Birla Auditorium, Siddaganga institute of Techonology, BH Road) on May 17 and Davangere (Kuvempu Kannada Bhavana, Vidhyanagar) on May 18.
