Mangalore, May 9: Rotary International District-3180 and Rotary Club of Mangalore Central jointly organized “Anubhav – Rotary District Assembly 2010” at Loyola Hall, St. Aloysius PU College, Mangalore on May 8, Saturday. Awards were conferred on 61 Rotary Clubs of 8 districts in Karnataka.
Padma Bhushan Prof. B. M. Hegde, the advisor for Royal College of Physicians in London, inaugurated the event. In his inaugural address, he said that experience teaches us valuable lessons. Learning something new is “anubhooti” and repeating the same thing is “anubhav,” he said. Recalling the great life of Rabindranath Tagore, he stressed the necessity of good values in a leader.
Rtn. IPDG Krishna Shetty spoke about the various contributions of the Rotary Club to Society.
Rtn. Dr. B. Devadas Rai, the chairman of the organizing committee, made the welcome speech. Rtn. Jnana Vasanth Shetty, Rtn. K. Ravi Appaji, Rtn. K. M. Hegde, and Rotarians from several districts participated in the event.
