Udupi, Sep 06, 2014: Indian Psychiatric Society, Karnataka chapter and Udupi Psychiatric Society will be organising a two-day annual conference, ‘KANCIPS-2014’ at Ananthshayana hall in Hotel Kidiyur here from September 6 to 7. Speaking to media organising secretary of the conference Dr P V Bhandari said the theme of the conference is ‘Mind and Brain Interface’.
Health and Family Welfare Department Principal Secretary Sivasailam N will inaugurate the conference. Principal District and Sessions Judge (Udupi) Shivashankar B Amarannavar will be the guest of honour. Indian Psychiatric Society (Karnataka chapter) President Dr Madhava Rao will preside.
As many as 250 delegates from across the state will take part in the conference. Nine free papers and seven award papers will be presented on the occasion. Nearly 34 posters will be displayed. A total of 50 research works will be presented. On the occasion, Physicist KP Rao will be felicitated with ‘Prof R L Kapoor Oration award’ for his excellent work in the field of computer and cognition. Besides, renowned psychiatrists Dr Suresh N Chate and Dr Nanasaheb M Patil will be felicitated.
