Bantwal, May 10, 2013 : Senior RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat has rebutted allegations that he had played a crucial role in selection of some BJP candidates for the recently held Assembly elections.
Speaking to press men here, Kalladka Bhat said he had no role in choosing Rajesh Naik as candidate from Bantwal and made it clear that the RSS in no way intervened in BJP matters and that it was the BJP organizing committee president Santosh who nominated the candidates.
On the BJP’s defeat in the Assembly election, Bhat said “ People voted for the Congress as they had dissatisfaction over the BJP style of functioning. Confusion and chaos in BJP led to rejection of the party,” Bhat said.
At the same time Bhat also pointed fingers towards the media and said the adverse publicity created by the media too contributed to BJP’s defeat. At the same time he said “ The Sangh Parivar though had worked hard for the BJP’s victory, it was defeated by the money power of the Congress.”
On the newly elect MLA Ramanatha Rai of Bantwal, prior to the elections declaring that it was a fight between him and Kalladka Bhat, the RSS leader said Rai did so just to appease minorities and prove that he was a protector of their interests.
