Mangalore, Nov 21: Mangalore witnessed heavy rains with thunder and lightening on Friday, from 1 p.m. 

Bantwal, Puttur, Vitla, Moodubidri, Surathkal, Mulki, Bajpe, and other areas witnessed heavy rainfall. Light rainfall was witnessed in Ullal, Kasargod, and Kokkada. 

A few houses and school buildings in Surathkal were destroyed by lightening. The power supply was also disrupted. The thunderstorm also destroyed the building of Krishnapu Junior College. 
While there was light rainfall in Kinnigoli and Belthangady, thunder and lightening was reported in Gutthakadu.
