Recent bus fare hike illegal: Palemar

Mangalore, May 1: District-in-Charge Minister Krishna J Palemar said that the recent 10 percent bus fare hike, brought into effect by private bus operators, has not been approved by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA). He said that the RTA will take action against the illegal price hike as early as possible. 

He spoke about the people’s warm response to the recently introduced KSRTC air-conditioned Volvo buses, adding that KSRTC has been encouraged enough to introduce services from Mangalore to places such as Vittal, Puttur, and Karkala. 

Padmanabha Kottari, the president of the DK district BJP; K P Jagadish Adhikari, the vice president; MP Nalin Kumar Kateel; Kasturi Panja, the president of the BJP Block; and Sudarshan M were present.
