Udupi, May 7: Dr. S. Krishnamurthy, the vice president of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), laid the foundation stone for the Blood Bank and Rehabilitation Centre, which is being constructed at Vasundhara Nagar in Santhekatte in collaboration with the Gokul Hospital and Shrikrishna Charitable Trust, on May 6, Thursday.
In his speech, Dr. Krishnamurthy said that the Indian Red Cross Society is eager to expand its services to the rural areas of the country, where people are in great need of specialized services. He said that even the government is ready to support the organization in providing quality services to the people.
Chairman of Hitech Medicare Hospital T. V. Rao presided over the programme. Basrur Rajeev Shetty, the president of Udupi IRCS, made the welcome speech. Sainath proposed the vote of thanks.
Dr. N. Vijaya Ballal, the trustee of the Ambalpady Temple; Dr. S. B. Kulkarni, the president of IRCS Karnataka; Dr. N. G. Narayan, the secretary; Dr. Sharath Rao of the district unit of IRCS; and K. R. Devadiga were also present.
