Rosa Mystica College students protest against ‘harassment’ by principal

Mangalore, Dec 13, 2012: Several students of Rosa Mystica College at Gurupur protested outside the college campus on December 12, Wednesday opposing the alleged harassment of a few students of the college by the principal.
The protesting students alleged that the Principal Jessy Crasta had hurt the religious sentiments of a few Hindu students. They said the principal had on the previous day asked four PUC students to go out of the classroom just because they were Ayyappa Vrtihadharis.
The Bajpe police who arrived at the spot tried to pacify the agitated students and said talks would be held with the college management. In the meantime, the college management has refuted the allegations made against the principal by the students.
It is also said that the college had a couple of years ago, been in the news after it disallowed girl students from wearing flowers. Students were also not allowed to wear Rakhis on Raksha Bandhan day, a few students alleged.
