SCDCC Bank to honour new ministers, MLAs of twin districts on June 16

Mangalore Jun 11, 2013: South Canara District Central Co -operative Bank (SCDCC) in association with Navodaya Rural Development Charitable Trust will honour all the  newly appointed ministers as well as newly elected MLAs from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts at Loyola Hall on June 16, Sunday.

Speaking at the press meet held at SCDCC Bank head office, Bank President M N Rajendra Kumar said that the felicitation programme will further motivate the ministers and MLAs to work for the development of coastal districts.

SCDCC Bank will felicitate Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology and Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge B Ramanath Rai, Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader, Minister for Urban Development Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Fisheries and Youth Affairs K Abhaychandra Jain, MLAs J R Lobo, Moideen Bawa, Pramod Madhwaraj, K Vasanth Bangera, S Angara, Haladi Srinivas Shetty, Shakuntala T Shetty, Gopal Poojary, and V Sunil Kumar.

Apart from them, S R Patil, Minster for Information and Technology and Kimanne Ratnakara, Minister for Primary and secondary Education will also be honoured.

On this occasion, SCDCC Bank will also apprise the ministers of the problems faced by the farmers and co-operative societies, Rajendra Kumar said.

Speaking about the farmers’ loan waiver announced by the erstwhile BJP government, he said that though the then government had said that it would sanction Rs 217 crores to co-operative banks towards settlement of the loan amount, not even a rupee has reached the co-operative banks till date.
