SRS can be paid to start communal riots, reveals Tehelka investigation

Mangalore Today News

Mangalore, May 13:  A six-week Tehelka investigation, which was reported by news channel Headlines Today, has revealed that the Shri Rama Sene (SRS) headed by Pramod Muthalik is willing to receive money to generate a communal riot in Bangalore.

Muthalik was captured on hidden cameras saying that communal riots can be organized in Mangalore of Bangalore. A reporter, pretending to be an artist, met Muthalik and said that he wanted to gain publicity “like MF Hussain” by organizing an art exhibition that can lead to a communal riot. Claiming that this could easily be done, Muthalik directed the reporter to meet his aides.

A series of meetings were held with Prasad Attavar, the national vice president of SRS, and Vasanthkumar Bhavani, the SRS chief in Bangalore. Most of the meetings with Prasad Attavar were held inside a jail.

The conversation between Prasad Attavar and the reporter who was pretending to be a publicity-hungry artist revealed that the SRS could direct a group of 50 men to destroy property and generate a communal riot. The outfit demanded a sum of Rs 60 lakh for their “services.”

Mr. Bhavani suggested that the Wakf Minister of the State Mumtaz Ali Khan must be invited as the chief guest for the exhibition. Obviously, the SRS is quite prepared for violence. Bhavani said that cases must be filed against the attackers; otherwise, people will suspect that the attacks were engineered.

Vilas G. Pawar, a senior SRS leader, said that this is just a conspiracy to malign the SRS and that the outfit will file a defamation case against Headlines Today.
