Mangaluru : The Academy of Hospital Administration - Mangaluru Manipal Chapter will organise a two-day national conference on ’Safety and Sustainable Hospitals’ (SASH 2015) at Yenepoya Medical College on December 5 and 6.

Dr Ghulam Jeelani Qadiri, Principal, Yenepoya Medical College, said the healthcare industry in India is currently valued at more than US $70 billion and is projected to grow further to reach US $ 280 billion by 2020. Healthcare, as an industry, has emerged to become one of the most promising and progressive sectors in the recent times in India. The pressure is increasing on hospitals to achieve financial sustainability and at the same time invest on technologies to achieve safe environment to provide care, he added.

More than 600 delegates will take part in the conference. The conference will be inaugurated by Minister for Health U T Khader, he said.

Medical Director of A J Institute of Medical Sciences Dr Amitha Marla said one of the highlights of the conference is the CEO conclave which will be attended by Dr Deviprasad Shetty of Narayana Hrudayalaya, Dr Ajay Bakshi of Manipal Health Enterprises, Brig Dr N K Parmar of Apollo Hospitals and Dr Ajay Kumar of HCG Global. Topics ranging from impact of social medicine, retaining talent in healthcare, impact of changing technology and innovations and creating centres of excellence will be deliberated at the conclave.
