Mangalore, June 10: Advocate Mubeen Solkar, who is representing Abdul Samad, said that Samad’s bail plea was postponed to June 10.
Samad was arrested when he alighted at Mangalore International Airport on May 25 by the Maharashtra anti-terrorist squad (ATS). He was taken to Mumbai on a special plane and charged for being involved in the arms case of August 2009.
Advocate Mubeen Solkar said that several cases of the type had been adjourned to a later date. A group of lawyers appealed to the principal judge to complete the hearing at the earliest possible. The judge obliged and said that all the cases will be heard on June 10 only.
The arrest of Abdul Samad has made the entire Muslim community of the nation anxious. They are now eagerly waiting for the results of the June 10 hearing.
