Mangaluru, July 11, 2021: St Agnes College, Mangaluru held the second vaccination drive for its staff and students on July 10. A total of 226 students, teaching and administrative staff used the opportunity. The District Health & Family Welfare of Dakshina Kannada had started a vaccination drive last month across various colleges.
The drive was conducted at Mother Mary Aloysia Memorial Block at St Agnes College. Signatures and IDs were collected from the participants by the staff- in-charge and they were assisted to sign up on the government COWIN Portal or Aarogya setup App before receiving the jab.
Students and staff who were unable to attend the vaccination process earlier were welcomed to be a part of the second one. They were asked to fill in their details in Google Forms and sign up for the vaccination. The attendees were instructed to bring valid ID cards including college ID and Aadhar Card. Several educational institutions are hosting these free vaccination drives where students aged 18 and above can get vaccinated along with the staff members of the college.
At St. Agnes College, Dr. Dinesh Kumar from Padil Urban Primary Healthcare Center facilitated the drive along with five other support staff. Social distancing, registration, and smooth conduction of the drive were overseen by the medical officers present at the drive.
