Selection camp for spl athletes at MIT from Jan 6 to 11

Udui, Jan 5, 2020: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) will organise a national coaching-cum-selection camp in floor ball on MIT campus from January 6 to 11.

The camp will be organised in association with Special Olympics Bharat (SOB) Karnataka for 250 male special athletes from 22 states across India.

MAHE Pro Chancellor Dr H S Ballal told reporters that athletes with intellectual disabilities will undergo coaching in order to gain eligibility to participate in the national and international-level competitions.

This will be a selection camp for special athletes, he said.

The six-day coaching camp will begin at 11 am and end at 5 pm. The camp will be inaugurated at the MIT basket ball court on January 6.

MAHE will simultaneously conduct ‘advanced coaches’ training camp in cricket for 55 coaches on the MIT campus from January 6 to 11, he said.
