Mangalore, May 14: Samanvaya NGO in collaboration with Mangalore Central Council of St. Vincent De Paul Society (SSVP) organized a seminar for its women members on May 9 at Samanvaya Conference Hall in Urwa Stores.
The president of the Central Council of SSVP presided over the programme. Rev. Dr. Ronald Cutinha, the director of SSVP and Samanvaya, was the resource person. An LCD presentation was held to provide information regarding the founding of the SSVP, the lives of the patron saint St. Vincent De Paul and founder Blessed Frederick Ozanam, the founding of the SSVP in Mangalore, its rules, regulations, and characteristic features, service rendered, and so on. This was followed by group discussion on the present situation of the SSVP in Mangalore.
Sr. Jessy D’Souza, the lady representative of the Central Committee of SSVP, welcomed the gathering and explained the objectives of the seminar. Secretary Bro. Rudolf Tauro proposed the vote of thanks. Sr. Linet D’Souza Suratkal compered the programme.
A community lunch marked the end of the programme. Sixty-six women from 28 parishes all over Mangalore Diocese participated in this seminar.
