Seminar to discuss on corridor for wild animals

Mangalore, Sep 10, 2014 : Forest, Environment and Ecology Minister B Ramanath Rai has said that he would shortly organise a seminar for the department officials, NGOs and other representatives to discuss on forming a corridor for wild animals in Karnataka.

Sharing his experience about his study tour to Kenya in African continent recently, with reporters on the sidelines of a programme here, the minister said that national parks from Tanzania to Maasai Mara in Kenya was barrier -free for the movement of wild animals. But, there are several issues like encroachment of forest land by private individuals, to implement the hurdle-free wild animal corridor in Karnataka. The possibilities of introducing the wild animal corridor will be discussed in the seminar in Bangalore, he said.
