Sullia, Sep 20, 2016 :  "Severe protest is the only way out to  oppose  the continuing onslaught on Hindu culture, cattle slaughter, insult of Hindu Gods, conversion and Love Jihad,’’  said senior RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhaker Bahat.

He was addressing a huge protest meet  held in front of the Sri Chennakeshava Temple in Sullia on September 19, Monday to condemn the recent  incidents of alleged conversion in the taluk.  The protest  was organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other organisations.

Stating that he has been instructed by the police against giving a provocative speech, Bhat said  as provocative incidents are taking place, it has become inevitable for him to react sharply.

"If we talk in favour of Hindus, intellecutals  posing themselves as secular  raise a clamour that this is communal. Why don’t they raise voice against convesions taking place in the country?’ questioned  another RSS leader N Seetaram.

Several Hindu leaders including Taluk unit chief of VHP Ganapathi Bhat Majigundi,  Jayanth Madappady and others were present.

Prior to the protest meeting, tributes were offered to the 18 Indian soldiers who  succumbed during the terror attack in Uri.

Police had stepped up security in the town in the wake of the protest.
