Eleven-year-old Sharath finally decided to go back home with his parents on Monday. However, he initially refused to acknowledge that Gopal and Savithri were his parents.
Geo D’Silva, the member of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) informed the reporters of Times of India that Sharath kept telling his parents, “Who are you? Why are you talking to me? Don’t touch me.”
Hilda Rayappan, the director of Prajna Counselling Center spoke to him. However, it was of no use since the little boy still did not accept the couple as his parents. Finally, he agreed to go to Bangalore with his uncle Ramesh.
After 4 hours, he finally accepted that the two were his parents. When Geo asked him why he had refused to accept them as his parents, he replied, “Simply!”
Ms Rayappan counselled the parents and asked them to give the boy a lot of personal attention as he might have been feeling neglected.
