Kundapur, Feb 12, 2017: A sound and light show, ’Bhar-atha Bhagya Vidhatha,’ produced by the Department of Information and Public Relations, was staged. The programme is conceptualised in commemoration of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar.
The story focusing on the life of Ambedkar, brought the great personality alive, with an ensemble of artistes clad in different attires denoting the current tech savvy younger generation, devouts, plebian class and British during pre-independence era. While the set of a good old building with ornate pillars provided the perfect backdrop, the photographs recollecting the life of Ambedkar were screened on an LED screen. Even the last Maharaja of Mysuru (earlier Mysore) Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar got due recognition for implementing women oriented schemes during his reign.
Around 4,000 people witnessed the show at Gandhi Maidan in Kundapur too.
’Nehru’ help :
A spectator among the audience in Kundapur was so engrossed and excited watching the play ’Bharatha Bhagya Vidhatha’ that the moment he saw the artiste playing Pt Jawaharlal Nehru’s role walking down the stage, he ran towards ’Nehru’ and begged him to set right the anomalies in his Anthyodaya card system.
The other artistes had a tough time in convincing him.
