Mangalore, June 18, 2014: Dakshina Kannada district administration in association with private medical colleges in the district has organised special health check up camps for those affected by the spraying of (organochloride) endosulfan on every third Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturdays of every month.
These camps are held in health centres in areas where such affected people are found in larger numbers, deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim informed.
Accordingly, experts from Srinivas Institute of Medical Research Centre, Mukka will hold a camp at Kaniyoor in Belthangady taluk , those from KMC Medical College at Koyla in Puttur taluk, physicians from KVG Medical College.
Sullia at Bellare in Sullia taluk and experts from Yenepoya Medical College, Deralakatte at Moodbidri in Mangalore taluk. The administration recently had signed a MoU with these private medical colleges.
Likewise, experts from Father Muller Medical College will hold camp at Kokkada in Belthangady taluk, from AJ Institute of Medical Sciences at Vittla in Bantwal taluk on June 18. On June 21, the camps will be held at Panaje village in Puttur taluk by KS Hegde Medical Academy, Deralakatte, Dr HS Shivakumar, district health and family welfare officer said, requesting all those affected to make use of the camp at places nearest to them and get due benefits in the future.
