Specially abled students of ’Ability Unlimited Foundation stun audience with show

Ujire, Dec 11, 2015: On the eve of Lakshadeepothsava of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, the students of ’Ability Unlimited Foundation’, Delhi, mesmerised the audience with their performance, ’Miracle on wheels’ at Amruthavarshini Sabha Bhavana.

The artistes in the troupe are all physically and mentally challenged. The enactment of scenes from Mahabharata was presented by the artistes, who moved around in the stage in wheel chairs, tricycles as well as with the help of crutches, walkers and sticks. They also performed Yogasana dance, Sufi dance, wheel dance and patriotic dance. Some of the dance artistes are also hearing impaired.

Audience were stunned and emotional  after listening to songs like ’Nithyostava’, ’Jai Baharatha Jananiye Thanu Jathe’, ’Huttidhare Kannadanadalli Huttabeku’ and Jogada siri belakinalli’ sung by visually challenged artistes.

’Ability Unlimited Foundation’ founder and director of the troupe Syed Sallauddin Pasha, a national award winner for empowering persons with disabilities, said that he is working to bring the specially abled people on a platform where they are empowered, included and have some dignity. "A disabled person doesn’t need sympathy or mercy, he needs an opportunity to showcase his talents," he added.  The troupe, being unique, also holds a Guinness World Record.
