Mangalore, Feb 11: “Sri Rama Sene will marry any unmarried couple caught red-handed celebrating Valentines Day on Feb 14,” said Sri Rama Sene leader Arun Kumar Puthila during a press conference organized at Press Club on Feb 11, Thursday. He added that Valentines Day must be banned in India because it is not part of Indian culture.
He warned that the Sri Rama Sene members will police and chastise unmarried couples involved in “obscene” cases in parks, pubs, cafés, and other public places. Young people who are in love with each other can continue their affair throughout the year, but nobody should celebrate Valentines Day because it is part of Western culture, not Indian culture, he said.
Prasad Attavar, Kumar Malemar, Madhusudhan Urwa Store, and Jitesh Udupi were present during the press conference.
