Mangalore Nov 30: Kota Srinivas Poojary has filed a nomination at the DC’s Office for the upcoming Vidhan Parishad or Legislative Council elections to be held on Dec 18, 2009.
He informed media persons that the BJP has given him the opportunity of representing the party as a single candidate from Udupi and Dakshina Kannada at the Vidhana Parishad election and that the BJP would win by a majority of votes.
Captain Ganesh Karnik, the member of the Legislative Council, said that they would support the candidate and hope to win the elections by a majority of votes. Srinivas Poojary has worked satisfactorily as the member of the Legislative Council for 18 months. For this reason, he will be given a chance to work full term. He is not only close to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, but is also a role model to all other candidates, he said.
Former MLA Rukmayya Poojary, Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon, Mayor Shankar Bhatt, and Chandrahas Uchil were also present during the occasion.
