Mangalore, Dec 24: The state convention of the All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF) will be organized in the Loyala Hall of St Aloysius College on Dec 28 in preparation for the national convention of AICUF, which is scheduled to be organized in Loyala College, Chennai, in July 2010.
AICUF organizes a national convention once in 10 years, which is why this event is of great importance. The last national convention was organized in 1999, which happened to be the platinum jubilee of AICUF. During the state convention, delegates will be chosen to represent the state for the national convention in Chennai.
Fr. Francis D’Almeida SJ, the chairman of the convention and the state advisor of AICUF, Karnataka unit said that the state convention will focus on “redefining the future: the role of today’s youth.” Ms Ruth Manorama, the recipient of the Right Livelihood Award, will deliver the keynote address on Dec 28 at 2 p.m.
