St Aloysius English PG Department to organize inter-collegiate fest

Mangalore, Feb 18: The post graduate department of English of St Aloysius College (autonomous) will organize a one-day inter-collegiate literary festival called “EngQuest 20Ten” on Feb 19, Friday. This is the first inter-collegiate event of its kind to be organized by the postgraduate department of English ever since its establishment in 2008. 

EngQuest 20Ten will comprise a total of 5 events, each of which is designed to test the participants’ knowledge, skills, and creativity with regard to English language and literature.

The organizers expect 10 -15 colleges to participate in this event, which is meant for both undergraduate and postgraduate students of English. 

The inauguration programme will be held in Eric Mathias Hall in IT Block. Manjula K T, the principal of Besant Women’s College, has consented to inaugurate the event. Fr Swebert D’Silva, the principal of St Aloysius College, will preside over the programme in the presence of Dr A Lourdusamy, the convener of the postgraduate department of English as well as the convener of the festival, and student coordinator Anisa Fathima. 

Fr. Walter D’Mello, the parish priest of Milagres, will be the chief guest of the valedictory programme. Fr. Swebert D’Silva will preside over the programme. The prizes will be given away during the valedictory programme.
