Stany Alvares re-elected as Mandd Sobhann president

Mangalore, Sep 14, 2012 :Stany Alvares, who has been associated with Mandd Sobhann, the Konkani cultural association, for the past 23 years, has been re-elected as its president.

According to a press release issued by Mandd Sobhann, the elections were held on September 12, Wednesday at Kalaangan.

The newly elected office bearers are Naveen Lobo (vice president), Irene Rebello (secretary), Lawrence D’Souza (joint secretary), and Arun Raj Rodrigues (coordinator). While Rony Arun and Eric Ozerio will continue being the treasurer and gurkar of Mandd Sobhann, respectively, Vernon D’Souza will take over as the PRO.
 
The members of the newly elected working committee are Louis J. Pinto, Kingsly Nazareth, Lawrence Pinto, Kishore Fernandes, Rony Crasta, Alfred Bennis, Sheldon Crasta, and Muralidhar Kamath.

The ex-officio committee members are Roy Castelino (pirjent), Ronald Mendonca (chairman of the government board, Kalaangan), and Fr. Ramesh Naik Bandodkar (chief patron).
