A jeep driver had built a house with tin sheets and hollow blocks at Kujambail hamlet. His one-and-a-half-month old child Arjun suffered injuries when the roof was blown away.  He said that he had never seen a wind such as this one before. The tin roof of his house got blown away. Before he could do anything, his son Arjun who was in a cradle made of sari, was blown away  several feet. But was heard crying and safe.  The child was  admitted to Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru.

Another person who lives in the same hamlet, had synthetic sheets for the roof.  He heard a loud sound at 11.30 p.m. Then suddenly the roof sheets started flying.  The local administration has given  cement roofs and Rs. 5,000 as immediate relief.
