Mangalore, May 19, 2012: The Mulky police have registered the case of a student who committed suicide because he failed his SSLC exams. Reportedly, Vishwas Poojary (16), son of late Vittala Poojary, was depressed because he failed his SSLC exams.
A student of KPSK School in Panjinadka, he had failed in 4 subjects last year. He had answered the SSLC exams as a private candidate this year. He had even taken tuitions in the hopes of passing his exams.
Reportedly, Vishwas was alone at home when he decided to take the extreme step.
In a separate case, a student who went to school to check his SSLC results never returned home.
Shravan Kumar (16), son of Anand Karvi of Neerkeriya in Uppoonda, left home at 9:30 a.m. to check his results in the Uppoonda Junion College. When he failed to return home, his father Anand lodged a missing person complaint at the police station.
Anand is afraid that his son ran away from home because he was afraid of his SSLC results.
