Studying medicine is in the genes: CET topper

Mangalore, June 4:  Shivaraj Prakash Patil of II PU at Expert PU Science College, Mangalore, secured the 3rd rank in this years CET medical category, answered the AIIMS entrance test on June 1, and will take the JIPMER test on Sunday.  

Patil has expressed his desire to try the civil services after his MBBS. He says that he prefers to do his MBBS either at JIPMER Pondicherry or Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune. The CET topper has been short listed for an interview at AFMC. 

Claiming that he is no genius, but just a studious person, Shivaraj said that his genes prompted him to opt for medicine because his parents Prakash G. Patil and Kamala Patil are doctors.  

Shivaraj said that his parents were pleasantly surprised when he secured the 3rd rank in CET medical category and the 4th rank in the MAHE entrance test. Shivaraj also has good ranks in AIPMT and VIT entrance test. He has already been chosen in IIT-JEE and is waiting for the results of COMED-K.
