Mangalore, Feb 15, 2013: Mangalore and several other places in Dakshina Kannada district  received untimely and surprise rains  on February 14, Thursday night. The rains which lasted for over two hours gave some respite from the scorching heat.


Meanwhile, there are reports of water logging in low lying areas at several places in the city.  The weather is cloudy all over the city and in many parts of the district on the morning of February 15, Friday.


 Rainfall registered in some  places of Dakshina Kannada district in the last 24  hours (upto 8.30 am) is as follows.  Mangalore, Naravi, Puttur, Sangabettu, Padangady (0.50mm), Belthangady taluk (11.5mm). Puttur taluk (37.5mm),  Kodambadi 37.50mm; Uppinangadi 23.50 mm and Dharmasthala 2mm.
