Mangaluru, Oct 23, 2015  : Speaking at the inaugural of the 90th Foundation Day celebrations of the Syndicate Bank at the Golden Jubilee Hall, N Vinaya Hegde, Chairman of Lamina Group and Chancellor of Nitte University, said on Tuesday that the Syndicate Bank had always focused on the welfare of the common man, agriculture and small industries.

He said that the Syndicate Bank due to the far-sighted vision of its founders – Upendra A. Pai, T.M.A. Pai and V.S. Kudva – focused on the interests of the less well-off people. The “Pygmy Scheme” of the bank encouraged the habit of savings even among the rural common man.

 Syndicate Bank’s priority was social cause. It was among the first banks to be nationalized because of its size. It was the atmosphere in any bank which attracted customers. The Syndicate Bank retained good relations with its customers at all times.

Narottam Mishra, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Mangaluru, was the chief guest. Ravi Shanker Pandey, Executive Director of Syndicate Bank, was present.
