Udupi, Apr 11, 2018: Udupi district cricket association and Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) are organising Silver Cricket League 2018, a National level T20 cricket tournament for doctors/medics from April 11 to 15.

Silver cricket league-2018 marks the beginning of a new era in sports for healthcare practitioners. MAHE, a deemed University, is known for its high educational standards with global outreach and state-of-the-art infrastructure. MAHE is celebrating its silver jubilee this year. MAHE, along  with UDCA, is conducting the SCL, a National level T20 cricket tournament for enthusiastic healthcare practitioners. The 22 yards of professionally layered turf, an outfield of lush green grass of international standards and the picturesque surroundings of End point, Manipal is the home for SCL 2018.

SCL 2018 is an amalgamation of doctors having a background of medicine, dentistry, Ayurveda, homeopathy and allied health sciences with an equally professional attitude in cricket to intersperse with their counterparts from various parts of the country.

Maharashtra Stars won the National Doctors Cricket League (NDCL) at Hyderabad, with runners-up being Jaipur while Manipal ended at the third place.

Ten teams will be participating from across the country in the first ever edition of Silver Cricket League at Manipal. Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Calicut, Thane, Pune, Goa, Mangaluru, Mumbai and Manipal are some of the teams. The players to watch out for are Pavan Bade, Sachin Patil (Thane) Abhay, Kunal (Pune), Satish Shetty (Mumbai), Ajendra (Bengaluru), Karthik, Abhishek (Mysuru) Akhil, Vicky (Goa), Rakesh (Calicut), Kaushik, Avinash (Hyderabad), Sharan Shetty, Pradeep (Mangaluru) Rahul, Vinod Nayak, Navin Patil (Manipal).

This tournament is powered by Medilab India Ltd. The tournament will be webcasted through Silver Cricket League facebook page and live scoring and ball to ball commentary will be available through www.cricscores.in.
