Mangalore, Feb 26, 2013: A Tailor from Ullal was cheated of Rs. 75,000 that he deposited following a call about winning a lottery. The case has been registered with the Mangalore North (Bunder) police on Saturday.
According to the police, Yashwanth, the complainant who has a shop off the Kudmul Ranga Rao Raod, got a call stating that he had won a lottery of Rs. 50 lakh. He was first asked to deposit 20,000 in an ICICI Bank account. He was later asked to deposit Rs. 30,000 and Rs.25,000. The deposits were made in ICICI Bank Accounts in Kolkatta and Bihar. Yashwanth got suspicious when he was asked to deposit money for the fourth time and he filed a complaint.
