Tanker hits car, 17-year-old killed, 4 injured

Puttur, Nov 21: A speeding tanker hit a private car near the Karnataka Primary School, Mani, during the late night hours of Nov 20, Friday. Five people sustained minor injuries and 1 died. 
The private car, belonging to Ratnakar, was travelling to Pane Mangalore from Pera Muguru when the accident took place. Ratnakar, his wife Chandravathi, their daughter Deeksha, and 3 others of the same family were returning home after attending the Gondala Pooja at Pera Muguru, their native place. Deeksha, Ratnakar’s 17-year-old daughter and student of SVS College, died. The others have sustained minor injuries and are taking treatment at the local hospital. 

The police have confiscated the tanker; but the driver is absconding. The local police have registered a case.
