Tejo Diya programmeto fete Padma Subrahmanyam, Harekala Hajabba

Mangaluru, Feb 07, 2017: According to official sources, GT Foundation will organise Tejo Diya programme at Town Hall in Mangaluru on February 8. Diya Systems senior manager Srinivas told reporters that renowned Indian classical Bharatnatyam danseuse, research scholar and choreographer Padma Subrahmanyam and social reformer Harekala Hajabba will be felicitated in the programme.

Nitte University Chancellor N Vinay Hegde, TAG-VHS Diabetes Research Centre, Chennai, chairman Dr C V Krishnaswami and MCC Commissioner Mohammed Nazeer will be the chief guests. N Srikanth and Aswathy Srikanth from Nrityalaya School of Dance, Calicut, will enthral the audience with their Bharatanatyam performance.

He said the foundation will sponsor the renovation of Harekala School founded by Harekala Hajabba. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 3.5 lakh. The foundation will also partner with the Rotary Club of Mangaluru for a special programme to launch ’Water with Blessings’ water purifier which is developed by charitable institution Water with Blessings and is managed by Sr Lurraine Lauter and her team in Kentucky in the US. They will launch the programme at Tejo Diya programme and will be handing over the water purifier units to Rotary Club of Mangaluru.

The Rotary Club will join hands with GT Foundation in identifying villages for distributing, mentoring and implementing it in deserving households. The purifier can purify approximately five gallons of water in five minutes. The cost of the project will be borne by GT Foundation and has been estimated at $7,000 to $8,000, he said.
